A native of Bangalore, Santhosh is a Computer Science Engineer by education. After nearly 5 years at Tech Mahindra, three of it in London, he quit to pursue cinema. Having assisted on many feature films, he began making short films in 2011. His work has been met with both popular and critical appeal.
Here's a brief list of his milestones. - Antara: Won best children's short film and best child artist awards at the Janashri short film competition - Journey : A Telugu short film that got selected in the top 50 among 1800 short films and was telecasted in Maa Movies. - Mahasamparka :Won Best short film award at Bangalore International short film festival 2017 , Best short film and best actor awards at Stoned Monkey short film festival. And was also officially selected for 9 international short film festivals.
Since 2017, Santhosh has been continuously creating entertaining videos through his channel Gimmick Keys. With its steadily increasing popularity, Gimmick Keys' subscriber base is increasing too.
'SILKBOARD' - a parody short film about the infamous Silkboard junction went viral on YouTube crossing 5 million views in a little over a month. Numerous articles about this short film were written in almost all the leading newspapers and digital platforms. It also won the 2nd best short film award at Language Short film festival 2018 and 2nd best short film award at Vijay Karnataka short film festival 2018.
Santhosh’s maiden Kannada feature film SHUBHAMANGALA, which was selected and screened at BIFFES(Bangalore International Film Festival ) 2020 released in theaters in October 2022.
Santhosh is also a passionate cyclist. He travelled to all the major pilgrimage spots in Karnataka on his cycle in 2016, covering more than 3500 kilometers. He wrote a book about his experiences titled ‘Sanyasi on Bicycle’.
In 2022, he travelled the entire length of India from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. His vlog documenting his journey went viral on Youtube, inspiring many others to follow in his steps.
Currently, Satyaki is the writer most in demand at Zee Kannada Television Channel. Having won the best writer award every year for the last five years, Satyaki is currently handling the writing responsibility for three teleserials.
Satyaki is also an aspiring filmmaker. Having already created popular content and assisted on feature films, he is gearing up to direct his maiden feature.
